who will go with me?

I haven't been to a concert in I can't tell you how long. I'm feeling very out of the loop. And old. I mean, it's not like I have the unlimited funds that concert going requires these days. Nor do I necessarliy have a sitter. But there are a few shows this summer at Red Rocks that I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see. Allman Bros. with Yonder Mountain String Band opening. Widespread. Bob Weir & Ratdog with String Cheese Incident. CROSBY, STILLS, NASH, AND YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even Blues Traveler over the 4th. And Gov't Mule with YMSB. Then there's Ani Defranco @ the Folks Festival in Lyons. Sexy-for-an-older-man Kris Kristofferson is also on that lineup. RockyGrass would also be a fun weekend. But who will go with me? None of my friends here are really into this kind of music. My brother will probably go but not with me; he'll tell me about it after the fact. My sis lives too far away. G's not into the scene either. I suppose I could go alone. It wouldn't be the first time. But it's not as much fun as going with friends. Any takers out there?

this is ALL of it

If she goes any shorter, she'll be a skin. Poor thing, G keeps calling her his "little boy". She says in response "No boys" ;P   Posted by Picasa

and to think, this is what she looked like only hours before!

Maybe they did it on purpose so people would stop asking if they are twins?  Posted by Picasa

I've seen people pay alot of money for this look.

In fact, I saw a woman in London who worked at Lush (or B) who had this very same look. You know she had to have paid some serious duckets for it. Lib got hers for FREE!

I cleaned it up as best I could considering what was left to work with

I figured a salon wouldn't do anything different than what I could do, but they'd charge way too much to snip off those couple of stray locks that were left. So I left a little tail in the back & left a couple strands long in front of her ears. I cut at an angle over her ears & that was that.   Posted by Picasa

Is it a phase she's going through? She looks good dressed boho. The hair wrap is the latest added touch.   Posted by Picasa

I thought it was actually kind of cute! G was not amused. He wanted me to take her to a salon.   Posted by Picasa

I spoke too soon...

someone's been playing beauty shop

and this is just a little bit that I hadn't found the day before; there was quite a bit more. Actually, they both admitted to participating. Luckily it all blends in, not big bald spots. And it's not like Snick who, at 4 yrs, took out the whole right side in her attempt to mimic the John Connor (T2) 'do.

haven't been knitting much this week

I've been sewing summer clothes for Fi! While each piece should only take a couple hours max, it takes me about a day for each b/c of the many interruptions throughout the day. If I could have just a day of uninterrupted sewing, I'd be in heaven (& Fi's wardrobe would be complete!) Oh and look! there's Cody the dog who wouldn't stay at home.

and here's where I couldn't sew straight on a curve, so I went over it with the nifty embroidery stitch of which my new machine has many. Yay for new sewing machines! And yay for parents & G who paid for it!

gotta love the forced smile; cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeezcanImoveyetcanIcanIcanI?

Just had to have this from one of Snick's friend's myspace

Look it's The Fray playing for Boulder High's Prom at the Boulder Theatre 6 May 2006. I'm so jealous, I'm green. And no, I didn't chaparone. I wasn't "allowed" even though I had no interest in "spying" on the Snick & her buds. She's a mean girl, that Snick.

I can't think of a "W" or an "E" just now

projects galore

So I 've been working on the branching out scarf. The first one. Still. I have ripped out more times than I care to admit to. Sucks to be sure; but I will not be defeated. Now as I was knitting along last night, I noticed that somehow the knit side & the garter side had got switched around. I thought I'd be clever & go an extra purl line to get it all back again. That worked for a bit but then it got turned around again. This may turn out to be one of those projects that I keep for myself b/c the prototype was not as I would like it to be for a gift. It is getting easier though. And it does look like the pattern is supposed to.

I finished a top & skirt for Fi. Just need a button & elastic put in.

I'm starting the sheers today. It's a daunting task but I have to bite the bullet & just do it. The window was naked for a while (thankfully the neighbors have some distance b/t us); now it's had a sheet up for another while. I have to get this done BECAUSE the pantry door is permanantly disabled & I'm going to sew panels for it instead.

I found a pattern for a sunbonnet for the girls (free online @ mother earth news). I bought some material & will start that asap also.

I guess I should get off the computer & get busy around here. I'm making guac today b4 work.

And there are uncontrollable giggles coming from the other room; must investigate &/or get in on the action!!

SP8 questions/answers

1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
I don't have a "favorite"...I like them all!!! That said, I haven't quite mastered the ability to work well with the really fluffy/eyelashy stuff.

2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? Right now they're all in a drawer.
I have a pattern & material all ready for a needle case...it is my next sewing project!

3. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I've been knitting for almost 1 year; I'm intermediate

4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
I do have. The craft wish list is linked to the title up there....
