this morning...
So I kind of woke up this morning to the DD2 & friend whispering about what to do while everyone was sleeping & why weren't the teenagers up yet (guess they don't yet know that teenagers sleep w/ a different internal clock & 7am is not a normal waking hour lol). Then I heard the teenagers talking (I can only imagine it was b/c the 1st graders's wouldn't let them sleep much longer). DD4 woke next & someone (in the teen years) must have gotten her out of her crib. Then DD3 woke up & was whisked into the living room by DD1's friend D. I couldn't sleep much longer than that myself. I think I finally did wake around 8 to the tune of the new Wiggly Wiggly World dvd. There were so many voices & so much energy in the house. It was very exciting. In fact, it made my day! I was reminded of when we lived in Family Housing @ CU & DD1 would have lots of friends over & neighborhood kids would visit, etc etc etc. I really miss having all that energy in our house. Not that we have a lack of energy here or anything. It was just really cool to be around. Everybody hanging out together & chatting. Clamboring for breakfast. Even the little spats b/t the two first graders was okay. Hopefully, when school's out & we've moved (or b4 then, even) we'll be able to have the girls' friends over again. I do really enjoy having lots of kids around :)

DD4's new words: up, down (while standing then stooping then standing then stooping...), bounce, yeah, no no no no no(while wagging her finger). She's also started singing and dancing along w/ a couple Wiggle's songs; namely "ponies" and "what funny folk we be". I'm pretty sure she said "Wally" yesterday (our neighbor's dog who comes to visit sometimes).
DD3's a regular little chatterbox these days. The vocab is getting larger & the sentences are getting longer. I don't even know where to start w/ what she's saying lately. It's astonishing that a few weeks ago she was talking so seldom (or seldomly understandable) & now I can't keep up w/ her progress!
DD2's growing like a weed...I had to take all the size 6 clothes away so she would stop wearing things that she couldn't button or zip or that were getting too short. She's really into poetry right now. Writing & reading it. Two more weeks of school then swim lessons & teeball & our version of summer "homeschool". DD2 is undecided as to what to do for her birthday. She had wanted to take her 2 best friends to Rodizio but has since changed her mind. I suggested Cinema Grill as something different to do..."maybe". And Micheal's for a crafty party..."no". She thought maybe Chucky Cheese (& G thinks so also) BUT I said that Chucky Cheese is something you do once in your life for your birthday. And she already did it for her 5th. "who says?" "It's a rule @ chucky cheese's." " oh." Well, hey, I might as well take advantage of reasons to NOT go to Chucky Cheese's while she's naive enough to fall for them. :P

So tonight DD1 is going to prom w/ "the Herd" -her group of friends @ Boulder High. They're going to the 14th Street Grill for dinner (should be finished by now) then walking to the Boulder Theatre where the prom is being held. She called very excited that the marquee had been changed to "Boulder High School Prom 2005". The ska band Judge Roughneck is playing. The prom is 9pm-12am. "A Marvel-ous Night" is the theme (as in Marvel Comics). (She went this morning from 9am to 2pm to decorate.) Then they'll drive to the Meadows Shopping Center to park & then shuttle over to the East Boulder Rec Ctr for the after-prom until 5am. After that she & her friends are going up to the top of Flagstaff to watch the sunrise. THEN she'll ride a bus to downtown Denver so I can pick her up to celebrate Mother's Day w/ us. Sounds like a fun & busy night! I can't wait to post the pictures!!
We had a second look @ the possible new house. Took the dimensions of our large bedroom furniture & then actually measured out the master bedroom @ the new house to see if our stuff will fit. I knew our furniture was big but I never thought it was that big -until we started looking for a master bedroom to fit. We're finding that most of the bedrooms in older houses are quite small. Anyway, it looks like it should be a good fit. Bigger than our room now but not huge like some of the newer master bedroom/suites are. I can really see us living in that house.
So we got an early housewarming gift today...a new plasma screen t.v.!! I can't wait to put it in the new family room!! It'll be like our own home theatre....
