I told you so, G. I did so see (on t.v.) Queen Elizabeth @ the Kentucky Derby on Sat.
And for the record, watching the changing of the guard is as exciting as watching paint dry...and it takes just about as long; I don't recommend it. There is far too much to see in London than to spend more than an hour standing outside the fence of Buckingham Palace with 200 other tourists. It was one of those anti-climatic moments in my life; an hour I will never have back.
